Mayoral Chain Expense
At the Council Meeting of 23rd April 2008, Cllr Ross and Cllr R Smale declared that our HELP Campaign had printed incorrect and misleading facts on our campaign leaflet, in particular the cost of £11,000 for the Mayoral Chain. During the same meeting they were unable to agree on the actual cost, some councillors stating £2000 and some stating £1000 with an additional £1200 for the box it came in.
The Councillors stated that formal complaints would be made with threat of legal action to follow. However, the HELP Campaign has yet to receive formal notice of any of this.
